A New Democratic Socialist Party?

I am very disappointed in the American people, especially southern, black, and older voters that voted for Hillary, and young people who did not vote. I will not vote for Hillary Clinton "same old same old" under any circumstances. Let Trump or Hillary win and maybe after a few years of them, the American middle class will have suffered enough that they will elect a true progressive, not a conservative or neoliberal. Unfortunately, we will probably not have a Bernie then.

As a former GOP Chairman for The Committee to Elect The President and recipient of the 2007 Florida Republican of the Year Award, I left the Republican Party when I realized how they protected their elite and started to rethink my political philosophy. I did not want to join the Democratic Party and did not until Bernie Sanders came along. I have come to believe that we need our own political party. We will never accomplish very much working within the confines of the Democratic Party. The Democratic establishment in Washington is in league with the same oligarchs as the Republicans.

I believe that "Bernie should call for a national conference of his supporters and those on the left to launch a discussion and begin making plans to run independent candidates on a pro-worker, anti-corporate platform. This conference could begin the process of building a party of the 99% in the United States." http://www.socialistalternative.org. The largest voter block is now comprised of Independents, many of which could be brought into the new "Democratic Socialist Party". We could also work with the Green Party and other such social movements.

What are your thoughts on this?
